What a privilege to be a ‘sent one’
Leaving for Kenya :)!
Thank you for your investment in my life and ministry 🙏❤️
Dear Ministry Partners and Friends,
Thank you sooooo much for your investment in God’s calling on my life and ministry. It is always difficult to try and capture ‘How was your trip to Kenya?’ when each day handed us a challenging syllabus!
I have wanted to be a woman ‘who understands the times with a knowledge of what God would have me to do’ (I Chronicles 12:32). The TIRZAH trip (www.tirzah.org) was like being in a two week time intensive course . . . . much like when I was getting my Masters in Global Leadership from Fuller Seminary. Once a year we had what was called a ‘two week intensive’. On this trip we were immersed in the lives of women learning about the core issues affecting women globally:
Poverty
Violence
Slavery
HIV Aids
Education
We saw the incredible opportunities that women have stepped into as ‘the God who is there’ has been at work in their lives. The artisans that we met and spent time with were such a witness to how these women have risen above their circumstances by coming together and learning from each other through microenterprise, leadership development and local sustainability.
One of my colleagues, Dr. Anita Schamber (www.gwlnetwork.com) has written the leadership development curriculum that these women initially walk through. ‘Where they have come from and where they are going’ (Genesis 16:8) ) jump starts a whole new trajectory for them that launches them into becoming life changing impacting leaders.
